Living Alone with No One to Help in a Medical Emergency
 
 

Nancy K. Smith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has a private practice in psychotherapy in Chicago and Evanston. She specializes in working with couples, addictions, trauma, and people who live with a chronic illness. She has lived with Type 1 diabetes for 50 years and is currently writing a book on the emotional management of diabetes. The focus of the book is on helping people to form a respectful relationship with his/her chronic illness as one would with a “life partner”. Nancy is divorced and is the mother of a 27 year old son. She lives in Evanston, Il.
